BLACK LIST
May 2004

  • Hello all my artist friends, I just wanted to drop you all a line to warn you of a group of people working out of Nigeria who are using stolen credit cards to purchase art off the internet. Please be very careful when you process these credit cards and do your homework. Both of the cards I was given did clear the transaction, but upon further inquiry we found they were stolen numbers out of the United States. I conversed online with these people for months before the final transactions were completed. they seemed like sincere, kind people. So be forewarned. Please just be careful, and if it seems to good to be true, it usually is.

    BLACK LIST
    September2003
  • We were invited to participate in this exhibition in October 2002. Three artists sent their work and it was hang in the show. Some of the work was reported sold and bank details were requested to process the payments. The remaining unsold work was to be returned to us. To date, we the artists have not received any payment for sold artworks nor have we got back the unsold works of art. We have contacted the organisation with no success and many emails going unresponded to them. We would request you to inform him and other potential participants ..........

    BLACK LIST
    May2003
  • All artist must take great concern on any negotiating in promoting their works to the unknown partners. The said name contacted me last year via the internet to promote my works. I did replied them to participate. I wrote to her to expect me at their office in London to discuss and elaborate the whole idea of promoting my participation. They rather asked me to fill all forms and send works before a certain date. They never answered my visits to London. They later wrote to tell me that, they had selected my works to join their special workshops events. They had then decided to drop me out of the special project because I had failed to fill and send works. I was just happy to forget them, emotionaly I felt two feelings. One was that I had lose an opportunity, the second was that they may be thiefs on the internet working hard to corrupt by using the internet, because artist are desparate to show their works by any chance. Take care folk.
  • l am one of those people who is wondering what happened. l sent my work ages ago to her and l still haven't got a reply as to what is going on. l don't even know if the exhibition was held or not. l would be very interested to know what went on.
  • I have taken to her apartment 15 paintings and met her personaly. She seems to be serious getting the exhibitions moving. I cannot believe she is doing this to us.
  • I also gave her my work and she has never responded since last year! I have sent her Emails but all in vain!
  • I send ten of my works since September 2002 for exhibition and until that day i have no reply, i call her many times but nothing. I don't know how to get back my pictures. Can you do something?
