Jimnah Kimani
By a Correspondent

Born in Mombasa in 1974, well-known Kenyan artist Jimnah Kimani has nurtured an interest in the visual arts since childhood. Upon completion of his secondary school studies, he pursued the study of fine art at the Creative Art Centre in Nairobi , where he graduated with a Certificate in Fine Arts.
He thereafter embarked on painting professionally and his works have been displayed at numerous exhibitions.
A substantial number of his paintings are in the hands of private collectors and lovers of contemporary African art. Kimani’s works of art are predominantly characterized by the use of bright colors and thick strokes. He draws his inspiration from life.
In 2000, Kimani was declared “The Most Promising Young Artist” in Nairobi ’s art scene.
