Creating A Directory for Arts and Culture
By Peter Musa

The Collective Resources for the Arts & Talents Enrichment (CREATE) invites arts and culture organisations active in Cameroon and other CEMAC countries (Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Rep. of Congo, Gabon and Central Africa Rep.) to get listed in a directory being developed by CREATE on "Arts & Culture Organisations in CEMAC Member countries).

The initiative was first launched in January 2006 but the directory is still largely under-developed. The directory is being created within the framework of facilitating networking between arts and culture operators within the region and with their counterparts in other regions in Africa, as well as the rest of the world, funding organisations and anyone interested in arts and culture organisations in the Central African sub-region.

Peter Musa, CREATE Coordinator requests arts and culture organisations active in these countries to furnish the following details before the 15th June 2009 to the secretariat of CREATE by email; Name of Institution, 2. Postal Address, 3. E-mail, 4. Fax, 5. Phone & 6. Website (if the organisation has one), 7.Type of organisation (for example museum, arts network, cultural association etc), 8. Status (for example public or private institution, NGO, research etc), 9. Founded in (year), 10. Activities (area of operations), 11. Chief Officer (name & function).

CREATE is offering an internship to a French student Nicolas Lesur from the Institute of Political Studies (IEP) University of Bordeaux, France to assist in compiling the list which shall be produced in an e-publication (PDF format) and also made available on the CREATE website.
