LIFE & FAITH Exhibition At Paa Ya Paa
By a Correspondent

Nobel Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai was the chief guest at the opening of Kibacia Gatu’s LIFE & FAITH exhibition which is showing at the Paa ya Paa Gallery in Nairobi.

“Kibacia stands out in the contemporary art scene in Nairobi as a leader beckoning the prodigal sons and daughters who lost faith in Africa to return home, to look at themselves, their families, their society and create a firm, moral foundation for social, cultural and political development” sums up Elimo Njau a director and founding member of Paa ya Paa art centre.

During the function Kibacia unveiled a portrait of that took him 4 ½ months to stitch together nearly one million beads to make the larger than life portrait of the popular Nobel peace prize winner of 2004.

Here are more photographs on that event.
