Project Upside Down

upside down
The project Upside down opening this Tuesday 3rd October was conceived by Kim Cornelius and is installed together with other artists; Patrick Mukabi and Samuel Githui as a collaborative project. Viewer interaction is a fundamental part of the project.
Compared to other art forms; installations are relatively new coming up in the 1960’s, when some artists started to make environments for their happenings. Installations are a visual form of art but have a lot of divergent planes with architecture, theatre, conceptual art, videos etc. The different elements brought together could be seen as one piece. The work is often developed for one certain space and not removable to another place. The environment is as much part of the installation than the work. The main attribute is viewer participation and letting go of the customary way of perception or at least giving rise debate.
