Triangle Artist's Workshop
www.AfricanColours.com

Body Mapping by Xavier Verhoest

For the month of November, Michael Soi will be presenting on the Triangle Artist's Workshop held in Dumbo Brooklyn, New York, that was a two-week long studio intensive for 25-30 visual artists.

Xavier Verhoest (visual artist) will introduce the Body Mapping workshop he facilitated in Kisumu in July 2006, a project that gathered a group of people living with HIV during one week.

Body Mapping is a creative therapeutic process that allows people to reflect on and creatively communicate their life stories. It involves painting a life-size outline of one’s body onto canvas and using pictures, symbols and words to represent the path that one has taken through life.

The presentations will be held on Thursday, November 02nd, 2006, at the Kuona Trust Resource Centre at The GoDown Arts Centre from 2:30pm
