Independent Curators International Conversation Series
By a Correspondent

Curator Bisi SilvaFor 35 years Independent Curators International has been moving exhibitions across the world. Now we're moving people as well as art to generate discussions on contemporary practice across the United States.

Starting with a panel discussion at the NEXT Art Fair in Chicago, ICI is presenting a conversation series with curator Bisi Silva in five states this month, including a lecture at the New Museum on May 9.

May also sees the debut of the second chapter of Project 35, our evolving compilation of video works selected by 35 international curators, plus our continuing program of traveling exhibitions on view across North and South America.

PROJECT 35: CHAPTER TWO

Project 35 is a versatile program of single-channel videos selected by 35 international curators, and designed in a flexible presentation format, reflecting the diversity and unique nature of the many national and international art spaces ICI partners with.

The works are presented in four chapters, each containing eight or nine videos, and the exhibition unfolds simultaneously in multiple places, chapter-by-chapter, over the period of a year.

The second chapter of Project 35 include works by Alexander Apóstol (selected by Ruth Auerbach), Sammy Baloji (selected by Bisi Silva), Andrea Büttner (selected by Chus Martinez), Jos de Gruyter and Harald Thys (selected by Anthony Huberman), Ranbir Kaleka (selected by Deeksha Nath), Daniela Paes Leão (selected by Yane Calovski), Ho Tzu Nyen (Selected by Weng Choy Lee), and Stephen Sutcliffe (selected by Hans Ulrich Obrist).
