This print exchange project was initiated by Penny George, former Education Officer at Oliewenhuis Art Museum and Tinus Boshoff, former lecturer in printmaking at the Free State Technikon (now the Central University of Technology) in 1999.

The idea and concept of the project was to exchange original graphic artworks among participating artists, institutions, galleries and museums. This project not only gave printmakers an opportunity to exchange works, but also provided an opportunity for art museums to expand their print collections. A portfolio of 38 prints by artists from across the country was put together.

The participating artists include local artists such as Jaco Spies, Ben Botma, Tinus Boshoff and other well-known South African artists such as Diane Victor, Fritha Langerman, Dirk Meerkotter and Sipho Mdanda. The project was sponsored by the National Arts Council.
