The calls for applications are for courses in "Value of Culture: On the Relationship between Economics, Culture and the Art" and "The Economics of Cultural Heritage and Museums" at the Amsterdam University College

This year, next to introducing participants to the principles of cultural economics, the course will pay special attention to the way creativity can contribute to better policy making, entrepreneurship and financing of the arts. It aims to give professionals and students the latest insights into the relationship between arts, creativity and economy.

In addition they have organized extra tutorials in economics for students who wish to pursue master programs with economics as a prerequisite.

This year there is a design and launch of a completely new program for the specific need of participants working and studying in the field of museums and cultural heritage.

Acknowledging the opportunities and risks connected to museums conservation and governance this course aims to stimulate new ideas on ways to realize the values of museums.

In both courses, participants will take part in debates on recent insights on the topics and learn from actual cases. They will engage with prominent cultural and business entrepreneurs and well-known academics.

Key dates:

"Value of Culture: On the Relationship between Economics, Culture and the Art" from August 17 to 24, 2011  (deadline for applications 30th June). Click here for more details.
