Ben Bukenya

Ben is mixed media painter, sculptor and multimedia artist born in Nsangi - Wakiso District Uganda on the 26th of January 1977.

He is associated with workshop activities for Ngoma International Artists since 2001, volunteering as an administrative director since 2006 to date.

Ben is also a Coordinator for Ngoma International artists' workshops in Uganda. He draws inspirations from situations around him and describe them as Affection or Disgust.

He says of his work - 'My work rests in between the core of compassion and durability. From this focal point I work towards creating order out of chaos. The tolerance in nurturing the creative process motivates the move in my work. I begin by recording the situation, and then constantly work on the surface over a period of time which builds the link between past and present.
