Eric Abaka
Born in Kumasi, Ghana, West Africa on April 25, 1983. Eric Abaka was born into a culture where art was cherished tremendously [from the performing arts to visuals], but unfortunately also taken for granted. Pursuing a career in the Arts was never encouraged by the larger society. "It was seen more as a gift from God". He says "My artwork can be described as a visual diary of my daily experiences. My area of choice is drawing and painting. This is mainly because it is the means by which I am most at ease in expressing myself truly and also due to the fact that it gives me full control of the creative process".
