Guy Compaore is a  Sculptor.

Guy Compaore

Born in 1953 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He began his apprenticeship at the National Center for Craftsmen Ouagadougou. He then continued his training in 1975 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he received the Medal of the Academie Universelle Gugliermo Marconi. Back in his hometown, he opened his shop which is exposed to his works. He is the author of many monumental achievements in the capital.

1983: Exhibition organized by the newspaper in Seoul, KOREA.

1987: Hotel de la S.C.F.B., Burkina

1988 - 1994: SIAO Salon International de l'Artisanat de
         Ouagadougou.

1984 - 1989: Hotel SILMANDE Ouagadougou.

1990: Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany.

1997: FARAFINA, Ouagadougou.

1999 - 2004: Gallery ZAKA - Ouagadougou.
         : Treasures of Africa, Space Gondwana -  Ouagadougou,
           Burkina Faso.

Award

1971: 1st made of stone carving contest of literary activities and
          artistic Haute - Volta (CALAHV), Burkina Faso.

1978 - 1979: 1st price of the Central Office of Study in Italy
         (UCSEI), Rome.

1983: 1st Price Grand Prix National des Arts et Lettres
         (Burkina Faso)

1992: Press Award and the Artist in Burkina: competition
         International Snow Sculpture Festival Olympic Arts the XVIth
         Winter Olympic Games in Albertville - Savoie France.

1998: Order of Merit of Rural Development - Clip - Crafts,
        Burkina Faso.

1999: Knight of the Order of Merit of Arts and Letters Clip
        Communication: Graphic and Plastic Arts.
