Hannah Uzor (1982) -- Fine Art

Artist Profile

Hannah Uzor is a Fine Artist.

Artist Hannah Uzor

Hannah Uzor (Nee Hasiciimbwe) was born in Lusaka, Zambia in 1982.  From a young age her artistic gift was duly noted and encouraged by her parents. It was only after graduating from high school in 1999 that she was able to seriously focus on art and subsequently she joined the Zambia National Arts Council  and was among one of its youngest members.

Hannah’s work has since featured in well recognized showcases including the ‘International Exhibition for Women’ entitled, “Women beyond borders" and has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Zambia and the United Kingdom.

Hannah’s African heritage is evident in her works through the use of vibrant earthy colours. Her works have exciting and unique themes that depict her view of life, social interactions and spirituality.

Also notable is her use of abstracted stick figures that she uses to capture human interaction in fluid motion. On the other hand, several of Hannah's paintings are reflective of her experiences in Western society since moving to the UK in 2003.

What am up to now

I have been recently exhibiting and promoting my newest collection of works titled 'Through My Eyes'. It is an invitation to take a journey into my mind and see my view of life by depicting my own personal experiences or the experiences of the characters in a painting.
