Stephen Garan'anga is a Mixed Media Artist

Stephen Garan'anga

Born in the seventies in Mbare, the oldest high density surbub in Harare, Zimbawe. He grew up the communal areas of Chihota , Marondera till he was the age of 13 years. Stephen was always interested in making artefacts, but took up art seriously from high school to the B.A.T Visual Arts Studios of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe graduating after three years as an honorary graduate.

Stephen is a versatile artist working equally well with three diamensional media, painting and the graphic arts. He has been invited to a number of workshops and residency programmes abroad and nationally exhibiting extensively in group and solo shows.

His exceptional talent has been complemented by awards in sculpture, painting and printmaking. Currently he is a full time artist, coordinator of independed art programmes as well as a committee member of Batapata International Artists Workshop.
